that girl who looks like that other girl.

Friday May 11- Last Day :(

I can’t believe it’s already been four weeks!! It all went by so fast! For our last day we had a studio day and then celebrated with yummy food and ice cream :)

This experience has been so rewarding, I’ve learned so much and now have so many great memories.  I’m going to miss hanging out everyday and learning all about the art scene in Columbus, however, I know it’s not the end because I’m lucky enough to be working with Stephanie more in the summer!

I’m extremely glad that I did Senior Project, and relieved that it has made me realize even more than before that I’m going down the right career path, and that art is definately something I want to continue to pursue in college!

Wednesday May 9- Studio Day

Today we had a studio day and worked on art! We also took down the wheat paste at Wholly Craft and put a new one up in its place because a mean person punch a hole in the little girls face

Tuesday May 8

Today we took pictures and measurements of windows for the cap pop-up show where artists are decorating windows around Columbus

We then put the information on the facebook page!

Monday May 7- FIELD TRIP!

Today we went on a field trip to Springfield for ‘inspiration’

We visited Hartman’s Rock Garden which is full of rock sculptures made by a man in the 19th century, and went to an antique market!

Friday May 4

Today I set up my pop up show for S Dot Gallery!! First solo show! :D

Thursday May 3

Today I started getting ready for my show in the S Dot Gallery! I sized and cut out all my images, and bought paper that I think I’ll use as ‘wallpaper’ on some of the walls :)

Tuesday May 1- Toys and Tools set up!

Today we were at Ray’s Living Room setting up for Stephanie’s Toys and Tools show!! It looks amazing so far!

Monday April 30- Curator day

Today we were at the Columbus Metropolitan Library setting up for the Wexner show. Pages.  It’s a show about taking literature (I believe Shakespeare specifically for some) and showing it visually through art, words, and comics.

I helped lay everything out to where it would go on the walls and then learned how to wire the back of artwork and how to hang them on the wall (59 inches so that the artwork is at the average persons eyes and equally distanced between each other) I never knew so much work was put into hanging things on a wall, but it makes sense because it looked great afterwards!

Im excited to set up for the Toys and Tools show at Ray’s Living Room tommorow!

Friday April 27

Today I finished writing out the information on the mini gift’s tags for the Toys and Tools show, and designed the “chalkboard” for Zoe’s Cafe in the Rigsby’s Contempoary Gallery, and the front cover of a Toys and Tools mini book! After I finished that I set up all the mini books onto the book shelf for the gallery book store

Thursday April 26 = cat thursday (apparently cat’s like paper..)

Today I worked on matting students artwork for the Wexner ‘Pages’ show while Stephanie worked on the dollhouse for her show, and then I started working on tag’s for the mini gifts from her show

Wednesday April 25= Curator Stephanie

Today we were “curator Stephanie”; we’re setting up both the Pages Wexner show and her Toys and Tools show next week, so today was dedicated to the Wexner show.  We went to the Wexner center, Mosaic, and an art charter school to pick up the students artwork and writings, and then took them all to the Columbus Met. Library to see what they would look like in the space

Tuesday April 24-
Today I couldn’t make it to Stephanie’s because of senior awards and band, but instead I started working on my box!

Monday April 23

Today we started on the plexi glass doll house that Stephanie is going to use in her upcoming show.  We went to Michael’s and picked out a lot of paper and things to jazz it up and then started work on it

I worked on painting mini doors, tables, and chairs, and got to play/put together some legos that we’re going to use in the gallery

First Week

The first week of senior project went by so fast! When it first started I felt like I was going to be doing senior project forever, but I think it’s been so much fun and we’ve been so busy that it’s going by way too fast!

So far the senior project is going great, lots of good music and good food, and we’ve been having a lot of fun getting ready for her show.  I feel like the project as a whole is going to be an experience that I’ll remember for the rest of my life, and I’m learning so much about living as a real artist!
